Peach season is here. We missed strawberry picking season and I was not letting that happen to peaches. We spent a lovely day near Fredericksburg, Texas picking ripe peaches off trees.
I’ve never seen a peach tree before, so you can imagine my excitement. Did you know that when ripe, peaches turn yellow and not red, as most of us believe?
We are feasting on peaches every day, some ripe and soft, some still slightly tart and firm. I’ve kept a few on the counter to ripen. I have many sweet ideas on how to use them up.
At the farm, I came across other goodies. Have you heard of honey cream, air-whipped honey with a butter-like consistency?
It’s the most delightful thing I have come across in a while. We are enjoying them on warm toast for a quick and delicious breakfast each morning.
More peach stories to follow. Hopefully I can capture them on film and get back to you. Stay tuned!

Isn’t Fredericksburg wonderful? We live in the Houston area but need to get over there for the delicious peaches. I’ve never heard of air whipped honey but am a big fan of honey…on anything. Thanks for showing us those marvelous peaches.

I’ve never heard of honey cream before and it’s totally addictive π

Will there be a peach flan or cake in the making anytime soon? :). They do look so delicious, and there’s nothing like picking your own fruit and enjoying it at home is there?

Peach flan sounds good. These peaches can easily take the place of apples in my skillet cake recipe.

I am thinking something more summery… always open to ideas π
