After managing to scrape through somehow the last couple of months, I am so ready for this month’s Photography Styling Challenge. But I will also be keeping it simple.
This month’s theme is Light – that which dispels darkness and sustains us.
For this month’s entry, I will leave you with this thought – “Only through darkness can we truly appreciate the light.”
I love the next photo for the starburst-like pattern the glass jar casts.
Another favorite.
I took these photos for my one year blogversary post. Right then, I knew I would be using them for this challenge.
Let me know your thoughts. I love your feedback and insightful comments.
Before you go, be sure to check out the other posts at these participating blogs.
Be sure to check out next month’s post on the concept ‘Living Room’. It will be time to roll up my sleeves and get to work!
You can still join in the fun! Click on the Photography Styling Challenge button in the sidebar if you’d like to take part in future challenges.

The 2nd shot is my favorite, too! It’s really well lit and you can’t beat how well you captured the reflection on the table.

Thank you, M!

Good shoot, A! I like the first shot the best because it really seems to be symbolizing the thought you have mentioned in your post.

Thank you, V! I agree the first shot is the perfect light-in-the-dark photo.

Well – just like all of the others – I gotta say – I love the second picture too.
The candle in the jar and the beautiful pattern it created on the base.
You got the eye!

Thanks Samta!

Nice job Anjana, I like how the light creates that pattern in the candle 2nd pic 🙂

I think the birthday candle in the jar is just too cute. I love it. I really enjoy the throwing of light by the candle and the way it captures the jar’s patterns in shadow. I didn’t think to try to shoot in the dark, very adventurous.

Thank you, Nicole. You are a darling!
Shooting in the dark was not a conscious decision. I took these shots for my blog anniversary post, and suddenly it struck me that these would be perfect for the Light theme. Candlelight always fascinates me 🙂

Anjana! These photographs are gorgeous! It is always challenging to shoot without natural day light (and that’s why I shy away from it!) so well done for taking on the challenge! I love the second shot, that candle is beautifully illuminated x great work! x

Thank you, Roxy. I love candlelight! The second shot seems to be the crowd favorite 🙂

What a click Anjana. Gorgeous. The second one which is making pattern around it…is so cleverly done :).
