“Teddy Bears and squirrels are brown, Autumn leaves are too.” – Boy was singing the Brown color song one day. Well, why not create an autumn tree craft with brown and yellow leaves? I had the perfect paint for this craft, the do-a-dot marker set.
I drew a tree in brown marker and then let him create the leaves.
I had originally planned on yellow, orange and red leaves only, but you know what they say about well-laid plans when a preschooler is involved! He wanted purple. Then he looked out the window, told me there were green leaves on all the trees. He even went outside and brought me a specimen. Texas skips autumn and goes straight to winter!
My inspiration was this little painting I found on Pinterest. In this, they have used cotton ear-buds to make the dots.
Here is the finished version.
We then made a couple of other paintings too. I guess I was more excited about the markers than Boy was. I might or might not have hogged the markers while doing the fish painting.
They are so easy to use! Am I the only one who has just discovered do-a-dots?
