It has been so long since I posted one of these. Reading has kind of taken a back seat. But, I read my magazines… and blogs! I am sure they count as reading!!
1). Reader’s Digest
I loved it when I was young, especially the jokes and little funny stories they put at the bottom of almost every page. So, I got myself a new subscription since June, and have come across a lot of good articles. It is nice to see how they have retained their format all these years (decades, in fact!) and it is still a good read. They must be doing something right!
2). Good Housekeeping
I was getting it regularly for a couple of years now, but have decided not to renew my subscription. Don’t get me wrong, I love GH. But I find that there are good resources online for the kind of articles that appear in GH, especially on Pinterest. A girl can have only too many addictions!
3). Iron House by John Hart
I came across this book by chance at a local store where the price was marked down to a dollar! I had never heard of Hart’s works before, but it seems they are good. He is compared by some to John Grisham, which is right up my alley! Iron House is a dark thriller involving long-lost brothers, the mob and love.
PS: I sometimes visualize the story in my head as if it were a movie. This book has been the perfect candidate so far for doing so!

I love this post! Reader’s Digest takes me back to being a kid, too. Right now, I am reading a book called Still Alice. It’s about a college professor who is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. I think Iron House sounds like less of a downer!

Iron House was a fast, thrilling read…a little predictable towards the end.
Good to know you like reading too!
