I wanted a quick update for our living room. We had red and black throw pillows and I wanted to lighten the look for spring.
I bought this fabric from Hobby Lobby a long time back. I finally got around to making new cushion covers out of it. I am no seamstress by any stretch of imagination, but I can make do by hemming with hand. And that’s exactly how I made new cushion covers for our couch.
I made them envelope-style and just slid the old cushions into the new covers. Here is an easy tutorial I found with diagrams.
Just a quick and easy update!
On a side note, my succulents are well and thriving!
Now, I am on the lookout for coordinating fabric to go with it. I am thinking something with white and gray in it. I found some patterns I like on Etsy.
Isn’t the elephant pattern adorable? I love those gentle giants!
How about something blue? Like this one from Target.
Geometric and floral prints from Amazon.
Green would be a good choice too. Love this one from Wayfair.
And while I was window shopping on the web, I spied this quirky bicycle print pillow on Fab. How fun!
I didn’t find any such fabric online at Hobby Lobby. I am wondering if this one would work? Or is it too busy?
Maybe I will end up getting plain gray or green fabric. I better go check the store for something that will work!
What do you think? I would love some suggestions on possible color combos.
Making new cushion covers are such a quick, inexpensive decor update!! Don’t you think so?
While we are on the subject of spring decor updates, check out my post on succulents in painted terracotta pots.
And my colorful spring paper wreath.

I love the last fabric you showed! OK it is a bit busy, but with the white and fairly easy on the eyes pattern of your own cushions I would say it would look amazing.
